Move over Postman Pat, there's a new hero in town
MCG has been working with independent parcels, mail and logistics service giant, UK Mail to launch its innovative new service www.ipostparcels.com, going head-to-head with Royal Mail.
The new service targets people sending one-off parcels or packets for next-day delivery as well as eBay sellers who have a pile of parcels. It offers timed collections and a range of delivery options for a tracked parcel anywhere in the UK, which can be booked online from the comfort of your home or office.
MCG used a mixture of media relations, social media, research and charity partnerships to launch the new service and educate journalists and consumers about how it compares well against competitors such as Royal Mail.
The star of the campaign has been www.ipostparcels.com hero Parcel Pete who has been doing everything from encouraging customers to donate much-needed parcels to Cancer Research UK shops, which www.ipostparcels delivered collected and delivered free of charge, to running Postman Pat out of town when the Royal Mail announced its price rises.
